So, first is the big picture ….

1) Building your website

We’ll use BlinkWeb.com to create your website. WebBlink is an online program that allows you to easily create a simple, clean looking website.

2) Hosting your website

Any given website is a combination of files. “Hosting” means keeping your website files on a public computer where anyone who wants to visit your site can get immediate access to it. In essence a “hosting account” is like a virtual “home” for your website.

You have a choice
No matter what program you use to build your website, you will need to host it somewhere and pay hosting fees. If you build your website with WebBlink, you have a choice of hosting it with WebBlink for $14.95 a month or have your own hosting account with an independent hosting company like HostGator for about $9.00 per month. If you don’t have your own hosting account and would like to get one, I recommend HostGator. Here is a step-by-step video on how to open a new hosting account.

You’re able to get your new domain, create, modify and host your website in one location with one monthly fee of $14.95. You will learn more about this hosting option from the WebBlink video tutorials. I strongly recommend this option if you’re just starting out, at least for a few months. Later on you will need you own hosting account thoug

For now, don’t worry about hosting too much, building your site is our highest priority.
